THIS WEEK’S NEWS
White House accidentally blows the cover of CIA chief in Afghanistan in memo to thousands of reporters
According to former UN ambassador John Bolton, "This is utter incompetence. There is no justification for this. There is no explanation for it. It's like there's nobody in charge of the White House."

When Bushes blew a CIA cover, it was ´treason´; now, it´s an honest mistake.

More Americans believe that biased media coverage is a bigger problem in politics than donations from fat cats, according to a new poll. Rasmussen Reports found that when given a choice, 48 percent of voters believe media bias is the No. 1 villain while 44 blamed big campaign contributions.

A severely disturbed young man in Isla Vista, California, murdered six and wounded seven. He sought "retribution" for perceived social slights, mainly from women. Half of his victims were stabbed and the others were shot, though news reports refer to him only as a "gunman" in order to serve a political agenda. He used a knife, a legally purchased handgun and he had only 10-round magazines (41 of them). Predictably, it took no time at all for shameless gun grabbers to call for action -- against guns, not knives.
But wait! The LA times recently boasted that “California has toughest gun control laws in country.”

The State Department misplaced and lost some $6 billion due to the improper filing of contracts during the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, according to a newly released Inspector General report.

The UK Independence Party has won a national election for the first time, taking the most votes and seats in the European Parliament elections according to sources in all of Britain´s main political parties. The Ukip victory, which came as anti-establishment parties advanced across the European Union, represents the biggest shock to the British political system in a generation.

THIS WEEK’S FEATURED COLUMN
Investor’s Business Daily  5/14

Bias: President Obama repeatedly claims to know nothing about scandals, blames others for problems and has failed to achieve most of his stated goals. If he were a Republican, what do you think the press would call him?
When a reporter asked in a two-part question whether Obama had been "caught by surprise" by the mushrooming scandal at the VA, Obama ignored it.

It was a good question. The White House had earlier claimed that Obama only learned about attempts at VA hospitals to falsify records and hide chronic delays after reading about it in the newspaper, despite mounting evidence that he must have, or should have, known long before. Obama did, after all, promise repeatedly to fix the VA when he ran for president in 2008. Yet neither the reporter nor anyone else in the room insisted that Obama answer it.

Now try to imagine how the mainstream press would have responded if Obama were a Republican. They'd almost certainly describe him as disengaged, maybe even incompetent. Or worse, an inveterate liar. At the very least they wouldn't let him dodge such a pertinent question. Especially not after he'd made the same plea of ignorance about the ObamaCare website fiasco, IRS targeting, AP snooping, Fast and Furious and other scandals.

Normally, the press is eager to come up with an overarching narrative for a president to help explain the day-to-day news coming out of Washington. President Reagan was an amiable dunce when he wasn't a warmonger. George W. Bush was by turns arrogant or a bumbling idiot. Nixon was a criminal. Carter was the malaise president. And so on. Stories that fit the narrative are played up. Those that don't tend to be buried. But the press just gives Obama a free pass.

His economic policies, for example, have produced falling incomes for middle class families, while Wall Street fat cats got even richer. They've pushed millions into poverty and millions more onto food stamps, while corporate profits soared.

A GOP president would be accused of helping the rich at the expense of the middle class. But not Obama. How about the fact that Obama has missed every economic growth target he set and presided over the worst economic recovery in more than 70 years, yet has refused to take any responsibility for his failure and never once considered changing course. Wouldn't such a president be depicted as close-minded, arrogant or inflexible? Guess how often those labels have been applied to Obama.

FROM OTHER COLUMNS
"The VA problem is not Shinseki; it's socialism. The Veterans Affairs health care system is completely government run. It is a pure single-payer program. ... [P]erhaps Democrats and Republicans will get together to sack VA Secretary Eric Shinseki. But that won't change a thing. In fact, it's a distraction. The long waits for treatment, with excessive delays resulting in as many as 40 deaths, are a tragically predictable outcome. This is the result of bureaucratic rationing, price controls, inefficiencies and the inevitable cover-ups. ... So if Congress thinks it can find somebody who can tame the VA bureaucracy, it should go right ahead. But the statist VA health care system, which in so many ways mirrors the government-run health care problems in Britain, Europe and Canada, must be completely changed. ... [A] system of government vouchers which permits veterans to choose their own health care plans, especially private health care plans, would be one giant step toward solving this problem."

"It is said that the problem with the younger generation -- any younger generation -- is that it has not read the minutes of the last meeting. Barack Obama, forever young, has convenient memory loss: It serves his ideology. ... The Pew Research Center reports that Americans 25 to 32 -- 'millennials' -- constitute the first age cohort since World War II with higher unemployment or a greater portion living in poverty than their parents at this age. But today's millennials have the consolation of having the president they wanted."

BOOKS, FILM
In his highly anticipated new book and movie "America," conservative author Dinesh D'Souza is warning that Hillary Clinton won't be a clone of her moderate husband, but will instead take the baton from President Obama to continue radicalizing the country and “undo the nation's founding ideals.”   “They may not be responsible for the suicide of America, but they certainly will have helped to finish off a certain way of life in America, and they will leave us with a country unrecognizable not only to Washington and Jefferson but also to those of us who grew up in the 20th century,” wrote D’Souza.

GLOBALONEY
Must read:  Americans no Longer Live in a Scientific Society  “Although we enjoy deceiving ourselves about how sophisticated today’s American culture is, we no longer even have a scientific society. This means that in the place of careful analysis, unbiased study, or scientific experimentation, meant to purify society with reliable facts—our leaders misuse science as another tool of propaganda to influence public opinion. In case after case, after public opinion has been molded by advocacy groups and politically correct zealots, science is then wheeled out to prop up the resident opinion. “

“In addressing the claims of misused science, no subject is more readily apparent than Global Warming. To suggest that AGW has been designed to punish more advanced nations and force them to disgorge wealth to the developing world is certainly true. Moreover, that the ideology is transparently Marxist in origin is obvious to the nth degree. The employment of “science” in the support of AGW has been so far over the top as to beggar belief. Despite the announcement that the globe has not increased in temperature for several decades, and scientists were asked to cover this up, it has become a weekly event for some group or person to claim that the earth is on the verge of baking, melting, drowning, or somehow dying.”

“…..one of the surprises of the rise of modern science is that it was closely tied to the 17th century Christian culture, according to John Henry in The Scientific Revolution and the Origin of Modern Science. For example, mankind’s first scientific club—the Royal Society—is known to have had an unusually high percentage of Puritans. Further, Henry argues that religion generally created a culture sympathetic to the creation of science, and specifically it was Protestantism and Puritanism which are seen as crucial to science’s development.”

LEFTIST WATCH
Former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe remarked during an appearance on ABC’s ‘This Week’ that Tea Party candidates in 2010 were “witches and defenders of rape.”

When your own minimum wage reportedly is in the neighborhood of $200,000 a speech, it might be difficult to sell yourself as the populist champion of the working class. But Hillary Rodham Clinton is doing it anyway, beginning a calculated transition from diplomat to fierce advocate for the 99 percent, using a “haves versus have-nots” message to build support among progressives.

Internal Democratic Party research says they must “portray Republicans as uncaring toward working-class Americans” in the 2014 campaign.

The city of London wants to be a hub for Islamic finance.

Ancient Islam arose from a desert raider culture, which considered slaves taken in war to be legal. In the case of Boko Haram (meaning “books are forbidden”), they just stole 276 young Nigerian girls from their parents, right in front of the world media, citing Islam as their warrant -- and nobody in the world dared so say anything about the long history of Arab slave-stealing in Africa.

ARTICLES
America is having what President Obama called a “teachable moment” on single-payer health care, the goal toward which Obamacare is but the first step. Doctor Hal Scherz has written an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today in which he lays out the real problem with the VA single-payer health care system, and offers hair raising examples, naming names. This is a brave thing for a doctor to do. In his words: The VA health-care system is run by a centrally controlled federal bureaucracy. Ultimately, that is the source of the poor care veterans receive.

You have to hand it to the liberals: they never miss an opportunity to convert tragedy into political gain. In the wake of Elliot Rodger’s six murders–three with a knife and three with a gun, plus injuries inflicted with an automobile–they are calling, once again, for gun confiscation. As usual, they denounce conservatives and say things like “end the madness,” but confiscation seems to be the point of it all. Once again, though, liberals are denied the holy grail of mass murderers–a conservative perpetrator, preferably a follower of the Tea Party.

Elections for the European parliament have been taking place across the EU, and the results are described by many as shocking: Stunning victories in European Parliament elections by nationalist, Eurosceptic parties from France and Britain left the European Union licking its wounds on Monday and facing a giant policy dilemma. Across the continent, anti-establishment parties of the far right and hard left more than doubled their representation amid voter apathy, harnessing a mood of anger with Brussels over austerity, mass unemployment and immigration.

WEBSITES
“It’s the feel-good video of the day. I’d trade it for six cute puppy or kitten videos. It happened in Syria, when a bunch of terrorists, said to be from abroad, got together for a little party.  The Syrian-based terror group is all sitting around singing, rifles stacked in the middle of the room in a menacing manner and their flag draped on the wall above. As their celebration continues, all of the sudden there’s a massive BOOM and the camera is shot off the screen. Panic ensues, and the men run around like madmen screaming “Allahu akbar!”
