op ed review 10/9

In three years, President Obama has saddled your household with an additional $35,835 in debt. “Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All Presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush Combined”

Four in 10 Americans “strongly” disapprove of how President Obama is handling the job of president in the new Washington Post-ABC News poll, the highest that number has risen during his time in office and a sign of the hardening opposition to him as he seeks a second term.

Obama’s Approval Only 30 Percent Among Independents

Nearly half of America lives in a household that receives some type of government benefit in the first quarter of 2010, according to Census data.

A Zogby poll released Thursday showed Herman Cain leading the Republican field, topping former front-runner Mitt Romney by an astonishing 20 points. Cain would also narrowly edge out Obama in a general election, the poll found, by a 46–44 margin.

Homeownership has felt its biggest drop since the Great Depression, according to new census figures.

If you type “Obamacare” into Google and then click on the first link that usually comes up, you’ll learn all about Obamacare from the most unbiased source imaginable—the Obama administration. Your tax dollars are financing that paid link.

The Obama administration asked a federal appeals court to block Alabama's new law that allows police to detain people suspected of being in the United States illegally if they cannot produce proper documentation when stopped.

For the first time, documents appear to show Attorney General Eric Holder was made aware of the Operation Fast and Furious earlier than he claimed -- up to 9 nine months earlier.

Newly discovered emails implicate Obama and Rahm Emanuel in the Solyndra bankruptcy scandal

President Obama bragged about how the democrat’s health care law will require all private health plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives–including those that cause abortions— without charging any fees or co-pay.

Michelle Obama's family trip to South Africa and Botswana in June cost taxpayers well over $424,000 for the use of Air Force aircraft alone, and that doesn't include the food, lodging, and ground transportation for the 21 family and staff members. The Obama daughters were listed on the manifest as "senior staff."

Political donations from National Football League teams tend to go to the GOP. Regrettably, against the trend, the Seattle Seahawks have given 100% of their contributions to democrats.

Jeffrey Kuhner 9/8

President Obama is politically insane….Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. By that definition, Mr. Obama is a lunatic leftist…..He is a reckless ideologue masquerading as a pragmatist.

Mr. Obama’s presidency has been dominated by one seminal reality - failure. His nearly $1 trillion stimulus; record budget deficits; unprecedented levels of public spending; the government bailouts of the auto, insurance, housing and banking sectors; billions heaped on “green jobs”; Obamacare; Dodd-Frank to reform Wall Street, and huge outlays for food stamps and unemployment benefits - all have failed to restore the economy…

Any reasonable person would change course - but not Mr. Obama. He is a big-government liberal who worships at the altar of statism. The fact that we are broke and can no longer afford his borrow-and-spend policies means nothing. Like all fanatics, he is disconnected from reality.

Contrary to popular myth, liberalism is not politics committed to science or rational thought. It is a substitute religion - a secular philosophy similar to Marxism that seeks to replace Christianity and provide believers with existential meaning. Hence, it must be defended at all costs, even in the face of irrefutable evidence or logic. Mr. Obama is not an anomaly among progressives. They share his stubbornness. Reassessment is not possible. If Mr. Obama truly were to tack to the center, it would represent a fatal admission of error. The liberal faith would collapse.

This is why left-wing Democrats are demanding that he defy the Tea Party - and reality. Rep. Maxine Waters of California is urging Mr. Obama to pass another trillion-dollar stimulus. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman argues that Obamanomics has not spent, borrowed or taxed enough. The problem is not Keynesian liberalism, but the lack of sufficient zeal. In Bolshevik Russia, hard-core communists criticized Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin for not completely abolishing private property. They argued that it was Lenin’s “deviationism” from Marxist orthodoxy - not central economic planning and state socialism - that explained the failures of the Soviet system. For liberals, Mr. Obama is now the new Lenin.

Yet, Mr. Obama - like Lenin - cannot escape the consequences of his disastrous worldview. Whether it’s $300 billion, $1 trillion or $10 trillion - no amount of “stimulus” or public spending will provide a long-term cure for the ailing economy. The reason is simple: Government does not - and cannot - create wealth. Only the vibrant free market can.

This is why liberals are now left with only two options: lie about Mr. Obama’s record or engage in dangerous demagoguery. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is more of a cheap propagandist than a serious party spokesperson. Mrs. Wasserman Schultz insists that Mr. Obama’s stimulus “worked.” The “facts” speak for themselves, she says. They don’t. In 2009, Mr. Obama vowed that if the stimulus were passed, the jobless rate would remain under 8 percent. Under his tenure, America has lost more than 2 million private-sector jobs. Mrs. Wasserman Schultz is the equivalent of a Stalinist-era hack jabbering about the Soviet economic miracle. No one believes her - not even her staunchest supporters…

Mr. Obama is a man of the hard left. He deeply loathes everything America stands for - capitalism, limited government, individual freedom and Christian civilization. In particular, he despises our exceptionalism. His stated goal is to create a “post-American world” where the United States is simply one of many countries - no bigger, better or stronger. He exhibits a form of madness, a self-loathing, reminiscent of the late pop singer Amy Winehouse. Mr. Obama keeps injecting the heroin of class warfare and socialism into our national bloodstream. And he can continue to play on the biggest stage and boast a huge audience. In the end, however, it leads to the same result: insanity and death.

Edited from a longer column, read it here:

“But for Romney to overcome the hesitation among conservatives, he needs to shed his excessive caution and boldly embrace a platform of profound reform. This is an epochal political year, pitting competing governing philosophies against one another in the starkest match-up since 1980. On entitlements, the great anchor dragging down the ship of state, Romney has been vague and timid. Romney’s literature promises that he will repeal Obamacare, yet his proposed reforms are not so much a bold departure from the top-down Obama approach as a promise to be a better manager. His website promises, “Mitt will use limited federal regulation to correct common failures in insurance markets, while eliminating counterproductive federal rules.” It’s proposals like that that make our hearts sink.”

The hippie horde attempting to mob and "occupy" Wall Street this week has a method to its madness. It's all about getting President Obama re-elected by employing classic Alinskyite tactics.

Democrats are rallying behind the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, with several lawmakers endorsing the protests in New York City that have begun to spread to other cities…..leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus said they had been inspired by demonstrators who have been arrested and pepper sprayed during altercations with police. “

Protesters accused of living in filth as shocking pictures show one demonstrator defecating on a police car.

While not endorsing the protests, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have expressed “understanding” of the movement that has spread rapidly across the country. Biden even compared the movement on Thursday to the Tea Party

You know real change is upon us because the celebrity left has come together. Susan Sarandon, Russell Simmons, Michael Moore, Roseanne Barr, Mark Ruffalo, Yoko Ono, and Alec Baldwin are speaking out. And when this many famous millionaires get preachy at the same time it can only mean one thing: they’ve had it up to here with the rich….

Rosanne Barr says we should behead rich people and bankers who won’t give up their wealth.

Michael Moore says the rich are out of control kleptomaniacs.

Flashback: Michael Moore sues movie accounting for more 9/11 movie profits after already pocketing $19.8 Million.

Several influential New York lawmakers have received threatening emails saying it is “time to kill the wealthy” if they don’t renew the state’s tax surcharge on the millionaires.

Very much unlike how they greeted the Tea Party protests in early 2009, the networks are embracing the new left-wing/anti-capitalist protests, even failing to condemn their unruly behavior which resulted in 700 arrests in New York City over the weekend, conduct for which they would have condemned Tea Party activists.

In the Occupy Wall Street movement, the Left thinks it might have found its own tea party. and some unions have embraced the protesters. The left-wing Campaign for America’s Future is featuring them at its conference devoted to reinvigorating progressivism. Liberal opinion-makers have celebrated them — Washington Post columnist E. J. Dionne welcomes their spirit, and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof compares them, astonishingly enough, to the demonstrators at Egypt’s Tahrir Square.

“Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department” by J. Christian Adams. A five-year veteran of the DOJ and a key attorney in pursuing the New Black Panther voter intimidation case, Adams recounts the shocking story of how a once-storied federal agency, the DOJ’s Civil Rights division has degenerated into a politicized fiefdom for far-left militants, where the enforcement of the law depends on the race of the victim.

“The Washington Post published a shameless hit piece on Texas Gov. Rick Perry. The 3,000-word story focused on a rock at a West Texas hunting camp the Perry family once leased in the early 1980s. On the rock was painted the word "N*****head," which the newspaper apparently felt was a matter of some consequence. The graffiti was in place before the Perrys came along, and, as Perry explained, "My mother and father went to the lease and painted over the rock in either 1983 or 1984. This occurred after I paid a visit to the property with a friend and saw the rock with the offensive word. After my visit I called my folks and mentioned it to them, and they painted it over during their next visit." End of story, right? Nope. The Post spent the next 2,500 words interviewing random people in Texas who saw the rock (though they couldn't recall when), reviewing Perry's record on race (which even Democrats in Texas don't dispute is stellar), and exploring the etymology of the word in question. Other media outlets used the story to spread the narrative that conservatives are racist.”

“This isn't nearly as important as that rock in West Texas, but photographs have surfaced of Barack Obama sharing a podium and marching with prominent members of the New Black Panther Party during a March 2007 event in Selma, Alabama.”

After a quick rise in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Gov. Perry has experienced an almost equally dramatic decline, losing about half of his support over the past month, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. Perry’s slide, which comes after several uneven performances in candidate debates, has allowed former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney to resurface atop the GOP field. But the most direct beneficiary of the disenchantment with Perry is businessman Herman Cain.

Gov. Perry raised over $17 million in 49 days, $347,000 per day; 20,000 unique donors from all 50 states,

To cheering cadets at the Citadel, Mitt Romney criticized what he called the Obama administration's "feckless policies of the last three years."

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie formally announced that he wasn’t going to join the presidential race. “Now is not my time.”

Sarah Palin pledged to stay an active part of the political discussion as she announced she wouldn’t be making a 2012 White House run. “…you don’t need a title to make a difference in this country. I think that I’m proof of that.”

Be wary of Republicans bearing electability arguments...that just happen to be perfectly congruent with the position of the MSM, and that boil down to the timeless, predictable, dreary advice of both: nominate the substantively elusive, terminally boring moderate. Since 1972, by my reckoning, the moderate-conservative scorecard for Republican presidential candidates looks like this:

1976: Gerald Ford (moderate): Lost.

1980: Ronald Reagan (conservative): Won.

1984: Ronald Reagan (conservative): Won.

1988: George H. W. Bush (conservative, by the good fortune of association with Ronald Reagan): Won.

1992: George H. W. Bush (moderate, by the misfortune of having been himself for four years): Lost.

1996: Bob Dole (moderate): Lost.

2000: George W. Bush (conservative -- I'm talking perception): Won.

2004: George W. Bush (conservative -- see above comment): Won.

2008: John McCain (moderate): Lost.

Am I hallucinating, or is a pattern discernible?

Majority of GOPers Reject Movies Because of Liberal Stars...”

When a presidency is experiencing a political collapse, as is happening now, the last thing it needs is to face serious legal and ethical problems. But that is precisely where the Obama administration finds itself with both the Solyndra story and the so-called Fast and Furious program. It’s clear that at a minimum, the Obama administration has given a misleading account of both matters. When these stories finally unfold, two cabinet secretaries (Chu and Holder) may be forced to resign.

So now the Fast and Furious affair has reached Stage 2 of the classic Washington scandal: House Republicans have called for a special counsel to investigate Attorney General Eric Holder himself for possible perjury. Justice Department documents indicate that Holder knew of the operation way back in July 2010 -- far earlier than the “in the last few weeks” that he told congressional investigators under oath last May.

Is CBS News Silencing Fast and Furious Reporter?

Leno: They say Chris Christie decided not to get into the presidential race because he has no shot at winning. That’s not stopping President Obama though….. That terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed last week, was American-born and was a top recruiter for al-Qaida. You don’t often see an American taking a foreigner’s job.

Amanda Knox has been acquitted. She got a congratulatory phone call from O.J…..Four years in an Italian prison — it sounds bad, but it includes a salad and bread sticks…..Special Forces killed the editor of al-Qaida’s magazine. So your delivery may be a little late this month…..Before this guy worked for al-Qaida’s magazine, he worked for “Carbomb and Driver.”

"Every collectivist revolution rides in on a Trojan horse of 'emergency.' It was the tactic of Lenin, Hitler, and Mussolini. In the collectivist sweep over a dozen minor countries of Europe, it was the cry of men striving to get on horseback. And 'emergency' became the justification of the subsequent steps. This technique of creating emergency is the greatest achievement that demagoguery attains."

-Herbert Hoover

"The American dream is not that every man must be level with every other man. The American dream is that every man must be free to become whatever God intends he should become."

-Ronald Reagan

"[W]hen the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man, who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink gradually."
