Big news from the
Supreme Court this week: Public sector
unions can't collect fees from home health care workers who object to being
affiliated with a union. The justices on Monday said collecting the fees
violates the First Amendment rights of workers who are not union members. The
ruling is a financial blow to labor unions that have bolstered their ranks in
Illinois and other states by signing up hundreds of thousands of home health
care workers.
Hobby Lobby
wins. The Supreme Court also says
corporations can hold religious objections that allow them to opt out of the
new Obamacare requirement that they cover abortifacients for women. The
justices' 5-4 decision Monday is the first time that the high court has ruled
that businesses can hold religious views under federal law.
In reporting on this, the mainstream media claims it’s all about
“contraception.” This letter makes clear
the difference between abortifacents and contraceptives.
A new Quinnipiac University Poll finds that voters rate Obama
the worst president since World War II, topping even his predecessor, President
George W. Bush, who had left office with terrible ratings.
Land of the free?
Not so much. Americans' sense of freedom drops, poll finds. Americans are feeling 'less satisfied with
the freedom to choose what to do with their lives,' according to a Gallup poll.
Doctor’s nightmare: As
Americans scrambled ahead of the July Fourth holiday weekend on Thursday
afternoon, the Department of Health and Human Services released 1,296 pages of
new regulations dealing with payment rates to doctors and hospitals.
The mainstream media is trumpeting that 288,000 jobs were
created in the last month. But dig a
little deeper and you find that 523,000 full-time jobs were lost, while 799,000
part-time jobs were added. “Another way of looking at these numbers is that
almost all of the 288,000 jobs created last month were just part-time
positions.”
Hillary Clinton gaffes:
“If a prominent Republican in contention for the presidency had suffered
a brain injury and subsequently started making the sort of gaffes Hillary
Clinton has been spouting, we’d be seeing front page stories on the New York
Times analyzing brain function and the likelihood of permanent impairment,
complete with charts and solemn pronouncements from academic experts. But this
is the Great Female Hope of the Democratic Establishment, so nary a peep from
mainstream media.”
2016 Poll: Hillary Clinton drops below 50% for first time,

Philanthropist Richard Mellon Scaife, whose vision and

A crowd of 300 angry protestors forced three buses carrying
140 undocumented migrant children and their parents to turn around in Murrieta,
California, on Tuesday after they blocked the road. The dramatic confrontation
between the flag waving protestors and the Homeland Security buses came one day
after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to resist the federal government´s plan
to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of
facilities along the Texas-Mexico border.
An American flag has
reportedly been burned by pro-amnesty protesters near the Murrieta Border
Patrol station on America’s Independence Day.
Ranchers along the
Rio Grande say immigrant smugglers threaten them constantly. One rancher said
smugglers ordered him to look the other way or face the consequences.
Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about the
contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children or face
arrest.

Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack
Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration
is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support
that belief.
Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed
bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank
of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for
countries with a prosperous and democratic future. The “reset” with Russia,
meant to ensure that America and the replacement republic of the old Soviet
Union can be friends, is a reset, sure enough. The new Russia looks more like a
reset to the Cold War, more adversary than friend, transformed by a feckless
American president and an ambitious Russian leader eager to take advantage of
weak and incompetent American leadership.
The “humanitarian crisis” on the southern border is the most
persuasive evidence of all that America is adrift in a sea of incompetence,
blown about by every ill wind that blows. The mighty ship of state is bereft of
a rudder, traveling in endless circles with the captain stumbling on the
bridge, trying to make sense of navigation charts he can’t read.
However, this may be ascribing to incompetence what is
better explained by conspiracy. Mr. Obama promised in 2008 that he intended to
transform America, and he is well on his way. Anyone who looked closely at the
man and the influences that shaped who he would become risked being called a
racist, a nativist, a bigot and a redneck yahoo. He was the messiah everyone
was waiting for.
The ruins of American foreign policy are not likely to catch
the attention of a culture drunk on the entertainment of the trivial, the
trifling and the unimportant. But everybody begins to notice when the chaos
comes close, when those responsible for monitoring the border begin to tremble
and sag under the weight of a tsunami of illegal immigration. The scary
implications for the future of the exceptional nation begins to weigh on
Congress.
This week, a Texas congressman who does not have the luxury
of looking the other way because he sees trouble in every direction he looks,
said what the nice people think must never be said. The tsunami will change
everything.
“Either we’re going to enforce our laws and remain strong,
economically or otherwise, or we ignore the rule of law and go to being a Third
World country,” Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Republican, told Fox News. “You’ve got to
follow the law. You cannot bring hundreds of thousands of people in this
country without destroying the country. Then there’s no place that people can
dream about coming.”
No one knows this better than Barack Obama. Making the
United States over into a Third World country is exactly what this president is
about. He is of the Third World. He spent his formative years in the Third
World, and when his mother, obsessed with the Third World, brought him back to
America, he sought out the company of those who dreamed of making America over
into the world’s largest welfare state, a France writ large, with Velveeta
instead of Camembert. He and his Chicago cohort of potheads, “community organizers”
and dreamers of fuzzy dreams entertained themselves with fantasies of how they
would one day transform the land of the free and the home of the brave into a
nation worthy of taking its rightful place among the nations of the Third
World.
Mr. Obama sounds like that captain who can’t make sense of
the navigation charts, but it may be an act. He understands navigation very
well. He talks of deporting the illegal children, of appointing hundreds of
immigration judges and opening a vast new network of “detention facilities.”
That may be his promised jobs program.
But he has no intention of deporting more than a few token
illegals, probably the gangbangers who came in with the rest. He can’t do more
than that. He knows the American people, with more mercy and compassion in
their hearts than he has, would not stand for dumping children on a barren and
hostile landscape, to be carrion for the coyotes. There’s got to be a better
way.
Of course, once the transformation of America is complete,
and there’s not much difference between Indiana and El Salvador, or between San
Francisco and Honduras, the invasions will cease. America will no longer be the
stuff of the dreams of “the huddled masses, yearning to be free.” Nobody will
want to come here, because it will be no better than the miserable places they
would leave behind. We have seen the Obama future, and it doesn’t work.

which is just a PR hustle to blackmail suckers into proving they aren’t
racists. No: Obama will be historic for
his fanatical leftism, which has no precedent in American history. The biggest headline is Obama’s ideology, not

violations of laws or human rights – for what they imagine to be a utopian
cause, of course. But every single power
cult in history is all for love and peace – once it takes over. Head-chopping
Muslims sing the song of love and peace just as well as the left.

Rep Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) believes the illegal alien
children flooding across the border need lollypops, not deportation. Lee balked at the suggestion

the border facilities need to be detained and deported by holding up a bag of
lollipops to demonstrate her view that compassion not deportation is in order.

family units simply enter the U.S. illegally, turn themselves in to U.S. Border
Patrol agents, are processed, and then released with a notice to appear at a
future date for court proceedings. U.S. taxpayers then fund bus tickets for the
illegal immigrants to go to the U.S. city of their choosing.
The political left in America has decided its rights and
values are the only acceptable ones in our republic. That they lost in the
Supreme Court this past week has sent liberals in America on a weeklong
hysterical binge of fact distortion and fabrication. Last Monday, the United
States Supreme Court ruled that Hobby Lobby's owners do not have to provide
four abortifacient drugs in its insurance plans. Liberals pounced on this
ruling and decried it as discrimination against women, which it was not. They
also alleged the Supreme Court had made it possible for Hobby Lobby to deny all
forms of birth control coverage, which Hobby Lobby never asked for.
