THIS WEEK’S FEATURED COLUMN
“Five True Lies Republicans Should Tell In 2016: It’s time to define the Democrats the way
they’ve done to our people.”
Our readers don’t
really need to see another column, post, or podcast about how the Supreme Court
and the Obama administration has wrecked the America we used to know, and we’re
past the time where we wallow in grief about how the country is lost. It’s not
lost. The fight isn’t over until conservatives say it’s over. Are you really
going to just sit there and let a bunch of high-school losers who found
religion in campus cultural Marxism destroy the greatest society in world
history? The Nazis, Bolsheviks, and Japanese imperialists couldn’t do it with
guns and bombs and yet you’ll allow Jon Stewart to do it with a TV show?
As a greater
American than me might say, pure applesauce. But one thing is painfully obvious
— the cultural and political rout the Right has suffered over the past decade
(or longer) won’t be reversed with the same stupid tactics that have gotten us
where we are.
Stop retreating,
stop compromising, and stop acting like the other side is a bunch of nice
people who just don’t understand the world as it is. The other side is a bunch
of arrogant, hateful control freaks whose own lives are so empty and devoid of
spirit that they can’t get fulfillment without interfering with yours. The
other side practices tyranny as a lifestyle choice, and they’re so accomplished
in their tactics that without a single vote of a legislature they can affect
your consumer options or even what you can say.
Fighting these
people in the culture, which as Andrew Breitbart rightly said is upstream from
politics and therefore at least as important if not more so, is something
conservatives have yet to fully engage. That’s a whole other column, if not
several. But for our purposes today, let’s consider politics — and let’s offer
a little bit of advice to the dozen and a half GOP presidential candidates who
are scuffling for the right to hopefully avoid being the third flat-footed
Republican to lose a national election to a wannabe socialist dictator.
A good rule is this
— if you consider one of the Left’s cultural aggressions, and use your
imagination to envision an extension of same into absurdity, you need only wait
a while before the insane next step you thought up surfaces in a headline as
the Left’s next cultural aggression. Since that’s the case, get tough, and get
smart — and hang these people with their own stupid ideas. Here are five things
you can say about the Democrat nominee which will be vehemently denied but will
stick anyway — because everybody knows they’re true.
1. “My Opponent will eliminate tax exemptions for churches.” Oh, but that’s crazy, and it’ll never
happen. Except it’s absolutely being discussed on the Left, and openly. In the
wake of the Obergefell case last week, the Gay Mafia is now demanding
precisely this of the Democrat politicians it controls. And during oral
arguments at the Supreme Court before Obergefell was decided, President Obama’s
lawyer Donald Verrilli openly stated that the question of tax treatment for
churches refusing to officiate gay weddings would come under debate if gay
marriage won in that case.
Every church in the
country would be affected if tax exemptions went away, and lots of them would
close. In particular, lots of churches servicing mostly Democrat constituencies
couldn’t survive the loss of tax exemptions. So the bigger the issue becomes,
the bigger a wedge it is for the Dems to overcome within their own base — and
the more energized the evangelical community will be to crush the godless
villains on the other side.
2. Push a constitutional amendment to ban polygamy, and demand the Democrat nominee join you in
making it happen. Polygamy always has been a lot larger threat to the Western,
Judeo-Christian concept of marriage than the same-sex facsimile is — because
while gay marriage is a peculiar notion that at most would affect about one
percent of the population who can’t reproduce themselves, polygamy represents a
demographic time bomb and there are cultures — one in particular — that promote
it as a legal institution….We know something about polygamist societies, and
what we know isn’t good. In fact, we are reliably informed from events overseas
that the world’s leading polygamist culture is especially hostile… to homosexuals.
So who could be for polygamy? “My opponent, that’s who. Why won’t she support
the anti-polygamy amendment? Is she a secret admirer and enabler of a hostile
and alien culture bent on destroying America?”
3. The federal government is going to destroy your
neighborhood, and your property values, with Section 8 housing. And it will unless we have a Republican in
the White House who’s actually willing to do something about it. We already
know that Obama’s HUD is attempting to use grant money to subsidize housing for
poor people in good neighborhoods so as to “diversify” the suburbs and exurbs
and thus dilute Republican voting strength there, and now, with the Supreme
Court’s ruling that “disparate impact” can be used to prove housing
discrimination even where there is no actual discrimination, the door is open
to destroying real estate as we know it. Let’s say you’re a real estate
developer and you want to build a bunch of half-million dollar houses in a
subdivision on a prime plot of land in an upscale area. Except now, under our
new socialist masters, you can build all the houses you want but if you try to
sell them you’ll get sued if you can’t find enough minority and “disadvantaged”
homeowners to satisfy the bean-counters…... Don’t put a Democrat in the White
House again unless you want criminals, terrorists, and bums moving in next door
on your taxpayer dime.
4. They’re trying to import a whole new electorate to dilute
your vote and make you a stranger in your own land. There’s nothing wrong with having a robust policy of immigration, and a
growing population is far better economically and culturally than a stagnant or
shrinking one. Republicans don’t need to take a nativist approach to the
immigration question, or demand that all the illegals be deported, in order to
look at what the Left is attempting to do on the issue. ….What we want is to
create Americans out of our immigrants, in the largest numbers we can. What the
Left wants is to create Democrats out of them. Our goal is good for everybody.
Their goal allows them to rule over a ruin.
5. “My opponent thinks the Jews are the cause of all the
trouble in the world, and Israel won’t be safe with him in charge.” Pin
the rampant anti-Semitism and bigotry against Israel on our nation’s campuses
on the Democrat party. After all, its current president is unquestionably the
most anti-Israeli leader this country has had, to be rivaled only with its past
president Jimmy Carter (whose hatred of the Hebrews only really flowered after
his term in office). And with the crazy Israel divestment agitation being put
forth solely on the Left, let’s make the Democrat nominee either own or disown
those people.
It’s stale to talk
about how much you stand with Israel. We all know that a Republican will stand
with Israel. What we also know is the Left refuses to do so. Isn’t it time it
got called out for it and made to pay a price among a constituency it claims
but hasn’t earned?
By now, there is no
reason to continue this charade whereby polite Republicans act as though their
opponents are good people with whom we disagree. That gets us nowhere; we get
demonized and we’re charitable toward them, which essentially amounts to
admitting they’re better than us. Start hitting them with the same kinds of
accusations they specialize in. Let’s make them play defense for a
while.

The Obamacare nightmare is just beginning: A judicial victory doesn’t automatically
translate into a political victory, let alone a policy success. Once they’ve
quaffed their celebratory champagne, the president and White House staff will
need to suit up and get ready to play some hard-nosed defense. Here’s why. The
driving force behind health reform has been the desire to control rising
health-care costs. From 2008 onwards, President Obama promised that his reform
agenda would reduce the annual cost for the typical American family by no less
than $2,500. After a while, it became a rather tiresome talking point. But it
was pure nonsense from the start…….this regulatory regime forces young people
to pay up to 44 percent more in premiums. Washington’s subsidies simply try to
hide the true costs of the law; they don’t control them.
Sometimes, at a most solemn moment, a most irreverent
thought shoots through the mind. When I heard that the US Supreme Court
legalized gay marriage, my thought was "I wonder what the estate tax
lawyers will make of it?" How about advising a terminally ill widowed grandma
to marry her much-beloved granddaughter at the deathbed? Won´t the estate pass
to the surviving spouse intact? I´m not a lawyer, but I think it will --
without IRS getting the bite out of it as would happen now. And it would be
very hard to have a sound legal argument against such marriage.
