GDP growth estimates have been revised to show an increase of 3.1% breaking the economic threshold of three percent President Trump established as a growth goal. Economists predicted it would never happen.
Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said that President Trump´s tax reform proposal can achieve 4 percent growth. "We have a jobs bill in front of us if we keep these rates down, we´ll go to 4 percent growth, that´s what we had under Reagan."

NFL says it doesn’t want to block players’ free speech.  But it has previously banned teams from honoring murdered cops and threatened players honoring 9/11.
The NFL’s game operations manual specifically requires both teams to appear on the field for the national anthem, standing at attention and holding their helmets in their left hands while remaining quiet. Failure to comply can result in fines, suspensions, and the loss of draft picks. Yet, on Sunday entire teams hid in the locker room and face no disciplinary action.

Then on Thursday night, chants of "U-S-A! U-S-A!" reverberated around Lambeau Field as the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears stood to observe the national anthem. Players and coaches from both teams locked arms on their respective sidelines. No one sat and no one kneeled.

Whether you agree with them or not, the NFL players and the executives that run the National Football League have really stepped in it, damaging their brand and alienating millions of fans and potential fans for no real good reason. It was a classic mistake.

Like it or not, and whether it's fair or not, many Americans feel that professional athletes as a whole lead a privileged existence, working only part of the year and earning millions for their efforts. When they're seen leading "protests" by disrespecting the flag and the national anthem — and all the high ideals and sacrifice those symbols represent — it's too much.

Yes, Trump intentionally tweaked the football players on Friday, after his back-and-forth with the NBA champion Golden State Warriors led to the president disinviting them from a White House visit. Trump then turned his attention to the NFL players for "taking a knee" to protest racism.

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---h off the field right now. Out! He's fired. He's fired!' " Trump said Friday. "You know, some owner is going to do that. He's going to say, 'That guy that disrespects our flag, he's fired.' And that owner, they don't know it, they'll be the most popular person in this country."

An estimated 200 players knelt during the protests this weekend, some joined by team owners. Others, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks, simply didn't come out of their locker rooms for the anthem. (One notable exception: Steelers lineman Alejandro Villanueva, a West Point grad and former Army Ranger, who stood alone at attention during the anthem, and was criticized by his coach for it.)

When the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars played over the weekend in London, they protested there too. Yet, as Nate Jackson of the Patriot Post reminds us, "they stood for the U.K.'s anthem, 'God Save the Queen.' God save the one who can't see why that's outrageous."

The NFL's official response was pathetically tone-deaf and could have been written by the NFL players union. Heck, maybe it was.  NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell castigated Trump for his "divisive comments" and "an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL."
Lack of respect for the NFL? What about respect for the nation's flag and its anthem, and for those who died defending them and what they stand for? What about respect for your own fans, many of whom still believe that America, though not perfect, is the greatest country on Earth? It's no wonder that many of the protests were met with a chorus of boos.

Nor is this, as many self-righteously claim, a matter of "free speech." NFL football players have the right to express what they believe, however odious or wrong it may be. But businesses have a right not to employ those who intentionally damage their businesses by reckless behavior and comments. The idea that NFL millionaires have special rights, unlike the rest of us, that let them ruin the very businesses that employ them tells you how out of touch they are with basic civics and responsibility.

We're not in the prediction business, but it's clear that Sunday was not a banner day for the league, at least as far as TV ratings were concerned. And TV is everything to the NFL, which has historically had the highest-rated programs on TV and which gets more than $7 billion a year from televising its games.

"On a day full of criticism from Donald Trump, political protests, linked arms, players taking a knee or not coming on the field at all during the national anthem, and renewed pleas for unity from the league, NBC and the NFL took a ratings hit on Sunday Night Football," reported Deadline Hollywood's TV analyst Dominic Patten. Sunday night's Oakland Raiders-Washington Redskins game was off 8% from last week's game and 10% below the same week's game a year ago, he noted……..

The politicization of sports, one of the last refuges for Americans from the politicization of nearly everything, is an enormous business mistake that the NFL will come to regret. They have angered and insulted millions of fans in order to throw a political temper tantrum. Sure, the players have a right to disrespect the flag and the anthem. As we noted, people have fought and died for those rights. But fans also have a right to be disappointed, offended and angry. Roger Goodell, the team owners and the whole NFL enterprise better wake up before it's too late.

“For the first time in American history, the party in power — complete power, mind you — is being asked to bail out the minority’s signature failed reform. Not just any reform: Democrats unilaterally shoved through the system a wide-ranging national restructuring of a vital part of the economy. It was an effort that blew up dozens of governing norms and was built on a giant lie, a manipulated Congressional Budget Office score and a process that, outside a few Kabuki theater hearings and technical amendments, ignored half the country while coercing every citizen’s participation. In fact, many of the people being asked to bail out Obamacare warned that Obamacare would need bailing out.”

Climate change alarmists portray a catastrophic rise in sea level as one of the chief dangers of global warming. They draw pictures of the Statue of Liberty up to her chest in water, and so on. I doubt whether many people actually believe these dire predictions, however. If they did, prices for oceanfront property would be collapsing. That isn’t happening, which suggests that a lot of people pay lip service to global warming hysteria who don’t actually think it has any scientific basis. If they don’t believe it, they’re right.

Police departments are more integrated than they have ever been — often overseen by African-American commissioners and political officials…….Though they make up only six percent of the population, black males account for 42 percent of cop killers; police officers are 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than are unarmed black males to be killed by a police officer.

Investor’s Business Daily   9/20
The U.S. government under President Obama wiretapped former Trump campaign Chair Paul Manafort in New York's Trump Tower under "secret court orders before and after the election," CNN reported, citing "three sources familiar with the investigation." Assuming CNN's report is true, it means President Trump, who was ridiculed earlier this year for claiming that his iconic building had been wiretapped, has been massively vindicated. But don't hold your breath waiting for an apology.

Just months ago, Trump was called a liar and worse for his tweets alleging that Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped……..

The entire investigation into alleged Trump campaign ties to Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election appears to center on the wiretaps of Manafort, whose consulting work included some foreign political groups, including in Ukraine. Even so, top U.S. intelligence officials have steadfastly and adamantly denied any wiretap of Trump. "With respect to the president's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets, and we have looked carefully inside the FBI," former FBI Director James Comey told the House Intelligence Committee last March. Comey was under oath.

National Intelligence Director James Clapper also denied any wiretap, telling NBC in March that he would have known about a "court order on something like this." Clapper denied to Congress that any of the intelligence agencies he oversaw wiretapped Trump, and said the FBI did not get a court order from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) — the only court that can grant a domestic wiretap on grounds of national security — to tap Trump's phones.

A host of others, including some Republicans in Congress, likewise publicly dissed Trump's claims. If CNN's report proves true, those who lied will no doubt say, "We didn't wiretap Trump; we wiretapped Manafort." But that cutesy, specious logic comes up short, both legally and ethically. In tapping Manafort, they knew they were getting Trump's many intimate conversations with him. That's how they could go to FISA and say it wasn't about Trump, but about Manafort. It was in fact a roundabout way of getting Trump in trouble, possibly even impeached.

As the CNN report said, "The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Trump." And the wiretaps were used to feed the ongoing investigation of Robert Mueller of the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russian interference in the 2016 election.
This, by the way, puts a new gloss on why President Obama did nothing at all when first presented with evidence in the summer of 2016 that the Russians might be hacking our election. It was a way to take down the Democrats' biggest threat, the unpredictable Donald Trump.

As has been noted previously, President Obama didn't have authority on his own to request a wiretap of a U.S. citizen. That requires the Justice Department. But that doesn't mean he didn't make it happen. The Justice Department was then headed by Loretta Lynch — one of the most politicized Attorneys-General in U.S. history, known for repeatedly bending the truth in her public comments. So it's not a stretch to think that, with a nod and a wink, Obama encouraged Lynch to go after Trump. He had every reason to do so, given that Hillary Clinton at the time seemed to be the only hope for Obama's progressive legacy to live on.

"It was the Comey-led FBI in the Lynch-led DOJ, in the Obama presidency, that reportedly used the FISA Court to obtain a warrant, quite possibly based on the phony (Russian) dossier, that has provided material to get Manafort and pressure him to find something to squeal about and catch a higher-up," wrote Thomas Lifson at the American Thinker. "The legitimacy of that warrant now is in question."

We'll take that a step further. The entire Russia investigation, which was manipulated into being by Obama administration holdovers working with congressional Democrats, now appears to be a fraud. More than a year after the government began looking into the charges, no proof of any wrongdoing or crime has been produced.

This is a tragic turn in American democracy, when a sitting president has a political foe spied upon by our own intelligence agencies. It's time to wind down the Russia probe and begin looking into the real scandal: Whether the Obama administration illegally used the intelligence apparatus of the U.S. to try to neutralize a political opponent. If it did, it's a serious crime that warrants a real criminal investigation — not Mueller's political witch hunt.

Newt Gingrich:  “this may be the most egregious abuse of the criminal justice process in American history…….the country that you and I know is under siege by a deep state which illegally wants to create a very different America and is willing to break the wall and abuse the law……This is a radically bigger scandal than anything about Russia,”

Global warming is "settled science," we hear all the time. Those who reject that idea are "deniers." But as new evidence trickles out from peer-reviewed science studies, the legs beneath the climate change hypothesis are increasingly wobbly. A new study admits that the 12 major university and government models that have been used to predict climate warming are faulty……Based on the growing evidence, who are the real deniers?

Liberals want us to turn control of our economy over to them, not because their stewardship has been successful in the past–heh–but because if we don’t, the Earth faces imminent climate catastrophe in the form of global warming. Some (e.g., liberal reporters) accept such claims uncritically, while the rest of us want to see evidence. In this debate, there are two types of evidence. The first is the raw material of science, observation. The second is climate models created by alarmists for the purpose of generating scary scenarios. Anyone with the slightest acquaintance with science understands that observation trumps theory
